Holla!

I may not be on DeviantArt much these days, but that doesn't mean I'm skipping an entry on my favorite books that I read in 2018.

My excuses for being away for nearly a year are:
- 1. Work
- 2. No internet at the new house I live in,
- and 3. Struggling to world-build for one of the many books I'm writing before my goal to publish next year (I receive that prophecy, thank you very much) :crossfingers: revision

This list is inspired by the annual Goodreads Choice Awards but my categories are a bit different. If you read books please shoot me a friend request so we can relate!

And if you've read any of these books let me know what your thoughts were. I love analyzing different points of view.

Hello beloved people:love:

2017 was a crazy year for me--some good, some not-so-good, but mostly a LOT of change!

To those who watch me, I apologize for not posting art (or writing) in a while. The changes I mentioned included the very emotional process of quitting my stressful, "career-related" job, going six months without a job while not hearing ANYTHING from the dozens of businesses/fast food chains I applied to, and finally adjusting to the only place that called and hired me at the end of Summer: Starbucks:starbucks:Not to mention successfully revising a 6 year old sci-fi manuscript that is screaming to get published and starting 3 new writing projects that are struggling for the air of readers' eyesWriting emoticon

Now, life is getting weirder as I master my barista skills, deal with writing schizophrenia, and move out for the first time away from my family--ever

So, I didn't read as much as I wanted to (and, sadly, did not achieve my Goodreads reading challenge) but I read enough to tally up my favs in 2017 that allowed me to escape from the world in the midst of the chaos.

Here is the link to the 2017 Goodreads Choice Awards if you're interested in that: www.goodreads.com/choiceawards…

Also, let me know what your favorite books were in 2017 in the comments ^^!

And here's my list :book-bounce:

It's one my favorite times of year--and that's compiling all the books I read in the previous year and  bubbling down my faves based on the Goodreads Choice Awards.

:overwhelmed:   goodreads stamp by snickerdoodlie  :overwhelmed:

As a member on Goodreads I both have fun and value other people's tastes in literature. Not only do I get to know them better by understanding their opinions, I also get an idea on which audience prefers a specified book which, in turn, lets me know if I might be interested.

NOTE: These are books that I got around to reading in 2016 and were not necessarily published in 2016 (which I think is the best kind of list).

I hide all spoilers in my reviews.

If you have a favorite book I'd love to hear what it is! ^^ And if you have a Goodreads account shoot me a friend request.

It has begun...
Part 1:  Even Heroes Know Pt.1(Please read the description for explo).
"For we are not fighting against flesh-and-blood enemies, but against evil rulers and authorities of the unseen world, against mighty powers in this dark world..."
--Ephesians 6:12

It was gray that terrible day.
Gray as the midday clouds threatened rain which most would say why it was terrible. But in the eyes of a 4 year-old girl sitting in the backseat of the family car, it was a day of fun and peace. Sammy knew it was going to be a fun day because she was promised ice cream, and peace because her grandmam was sitting next to her. The old woman nodded completely interested as Sammy articulated a dragon story her and her friends imagined in preschool. At that age, Sammy believed all grandmams defined peace. She remembered her grandmam for a long time.
“And den—and den the geen one tushes a sdar. And—and den his name is Dolphen,” Sammy struggled to tell the story quickly.
“His name is Dolphin?” Grandmam

~~~Original post~~~
I know it's cliche to apologize, but, sorry I've been gone long. New position at work has completely consumed my time to art anything.
But straight to the point.
I am currently writing a Transformers fan fiction.
Ratchet is laughing icon Llama Emoji-10 (Shy) [V1] Llama Emoji-10 (Shy) [V1]
It may not seem like a big deal to most DeviantArt--or regular internet--users but to me it is because a long time ago (back in my mid teens) I made myself an oath to never write fan fiction again. I wrote FF from age 13 to age 15 and realized that I was abusing the characters I loved (by abuse I mean I was completely re-writing their personalities and stories to fulfill my personal/emotional needs). Up until last year, when I wrote my Five Nights at Freddy's FF
Puppet is Master-FNAF fan fiction Part 1 of 3[Please read description for explo].
The muffled scream of the latest night guard was cut short as one of the actives fully bit down on the human head and finished the job.
It was only when the cosmic electricity of the breathing life began to rapidly slip away did I ooze out of the shadows of the party room. My legs, arms, and torso were as thin as the shadow of a table leg and as black as the soul of the imposter who had joyously murdered me, making my white, clownish face stand out in the low lighting. Without a complete physical form it was now nearly impossible for me to make myself active--let alone visible when a living human was nearby.
I felt the connection of the guard’s life at the tip of my power and I tried beyond the reaches of the physical for the human spirit as it vanished from the body in the blink of an eye but Chica was absorbing most of the reward. The man’s soul fled in its own power--to Heaven or Hell I knew not which, but I hoped it was the latter. T
,
I hadn't even touched the thought of writing fan fiction and was VERY much against it.
These passionate feelings came from my belief that all characters created should be manipulated ONLY by the creator of those characters or it wasn't worth reading. I did think it was okay for someone else to write FF if the characters were written true to themselves and the story they were from--I still prefer that belief. But, yeah, I was a real control freak.
However, I've finally been growing up in my twenties and have come to have an open mind and respect the opinions and ideas of others. There is too much negativity in the world and I believe we need to stop worrying about controlling others and start enjoying life for what we have in front of us. Peace for all, bra. Give Peace A Chance
Now that that's off my chest I decided to write a Transformers FF because I was prompted to by several people including the creator of this picture, :iconchasingartwork:, to write one:
Even heroes know when to be scared. by ChasingArtwork
chasingartwork.deviantart.com/
I also decided to do it because Transformers (all series and all characters) is one of my favorite things in the whole world
I don't know when it will be finished--hopefully before the end of this year. It's not going to be the most creative piece of fiction in the Transformers universe and it also won't follow any particular timeline or series. I'm taking a tip from the Transformers: Exodus, Exile, and Retribution books and kind of mixing different versions of Transformers characters with my own history into the pot, so hopefully this will turn out at least interesting.
For those of you who started following me because of the character Hydekre and his series that I and my sister are still in the process of doing, I give you the guiltiest of apologies since that has been put on hold due to life and the crap it brings. But for those of you who started following me because of my writing: Never fear.
I'm finding a kind of therapy while working on it. Hopefully I won't botch the whole thing and give this amazing picture the justice it deserves.
Thanks for listening,
Adelaide.
